I’m from the States. Corvettes are everywhere here. Very capable car, far quicker than an Emira- but I just don’t want one (the looks of it don’t help; subjective, I know). The Emira speaks to me: manual gearbox, simple, hydraulic steering, smaller footprint. I’ve had one on order more than two and a half years at this point.

The “naught to 60” (zero to 60) 2.9 second time for the C8 Z51 is NOT done from a rolling start, but from a stop using launch control.

Enjoyed your comparison. I’m driving my second C8 Stingray but looking forward to my Emira which I’ll supposedly have in August. I’m +++ looking forward to a manual transmission but will miss things like a convertible, heads-up display and the extra HP. But I prefer better handling and “more fun to drive” over those, for a sport car.

I was dead set on the Emira, but the corvette is cheaper and has better QoL features that I wish the Emira had.
If the C8 and Emira corvette were sisters, I’d want to date the Emira, but ima settle for C8 for now. The C8 will be the sports car for my 20s and then the Emira will be the sports car for me 30s

The Corvette engineers designed the handling that way on purpose for non experienced drivers for safety

Lotus never beat the c6r or c7r at the 24hr lemans. Doesn't even equality for gt3. Corvette>Lotus

Theres no point buying a sports car unless its a convertable. Why not just buy a Tesla if you want a fast coupe?
