Hi, we had a power outage with hurricane milton, my generator at one point tripped. My thermostat is not coming on. Tested and there’s 240v to the air handler, i tested the thermostat and it’s working on another system. Fuse is fine. I replaced the low voltage transformer, replaced the defrost board and relay, still no luck. Any ideas what I can test and how to track down the issue?

I love, that I never have to change batteries ever again. Because my Nest thermostat runs off from the 24 volts from the furnace. Plus, I love the Nest Thermostat, because I can control my thermostat from my phone. So, if I'm away from my home in the summer, I can turn on my air conditioning, before I arrive home. Before I got my new furnace and air conditioning unit, my old thermostat always blinked the time. Because it was too much in a butt to program it. I hated the Nest Thermostat running on a schedule, because it would randomly turn off/on. I wanted to control the Thermostat manually. So, I found out, how turn off auto schedule.

My Powermate 3400W generator won't turn on my NEW gas furnace! It did run the old oil furnace. When utility power to house came back on, the furnace started. The generator sockets have 3rd ground hole The ground is already connected to neutral side. The power out at end of 3 prong extension cord was 60cycle AC 117volts. The cord was checked for ground at both ends. What's wrong? The male plug on furnace side has poor ground. The socket on furnace has loose connection for plug. Is the new gas furnace in lockout mode? Service sheet says no power. No red light on board. Door switch has power. Does the new Airtemp gas furnace have a timed off period before allowing main circuit board to turn on? No response from contractor. He has the

Electric is on, thermostat shows: heat on, but it doesn’t. I heard some noise coming from air handler but nothing happening. I replaced capacitor and connector. Nothing! No heat coming!

The new trane furnaces are poorly engineered they made some big mistakes but in the past they did make pretty good furnaces until they change the cabinet size and front internal combustion wall reducing the return air inlet & the electronics etc are susceptible to water damage etc

I’m not a fan of carrier either, expensive for parts & they had many issues with the secondary heat exchangers in the past
Nice features etc but it’s seems there always trying to reinvent the wheel & they can be hard to access certain parts for maintenance to

Lennox suck I can’t stand them
Some nice features etc but there cheaply made. Now the Armstrong, Allied air furnace is awesome as it has a stainless steel heat exchanger that is pretty much bullet proof
The Armstrong is exactly same as Lennox but way better heat exchanger

Rheem is making a pretty nice furnace
I like the napoleons too C96 & C97
