September 2020 brought record winds which caused fires to spread rapidly, destroying thousands of homes and nearly 2 million acres of forest lands. Barely, halfway through the month, the Willamette Valley experienced a thunderstorm that brought flood level amounts of rain. Thunder could be heard and lightning could be seen for more than 6 hours.
