I compare the DeWalt TSTAK and the Stanley FatMax Pro-Stack to see which one is better. One of them is a lot more desirable.

(according to many people in the comments, the Dewalt boxes now have the new and improved clips although I can't guarantee this)

Thank you all for the great comments. I myself bought ANOTHER DeWalt TSTAK toolbox today and am glad to say that they now come with the better metal clips 😃. At the time of making this video, they didn't.

They're identical now. Newer models all have the improved clips. I've bought both depending which is the better price at the time.
Screwfix and Toolstation have them hugely reduced from time to time. So it pays to shop around

Great video! you have answered my concerns about compatibility between Stanley FatMax and Dewalt

That is an older DeWALT box, the newer ones have metal in the clips just like the Stanley. Craftsman Versa Stack is the very best with metal in the clips and a rubber gasket seal in the lid. The Craftsman will also connect to the Stanley and the DeWALT boxes.

If I hadn't watched this video I'd have bought the DeWalt so thanks for that. Saved me a few quid and learnt about the dodgy clips!

Hello,

I bought the plastic clip alone, only thing is that you dont now if they are yellow or black ...
I only broke one and that was my fault.
There is one position only to fit the new clips.
Thats why ther is a lip one each side of the part that go into the box.

Just to let you now
Kind regards

You tap one side of the handle in a certain position with a hammer and it goes in one end., then take it out the opposite way., then put new handle in. Just jiggle it untill you find the spot ready for tapping. That's how they fit them at the factory. Simple when you've done it...bloody hard when you haven't. Good luck, took me 2 hours . But I got it.

thank you for the heads up as I was about to buy the dewalt but not now! as you stated heating any plastic to bend it creates fatigue therefore 2-3 months down the line back to replacing it again?... I'll stick to the fatmax cheers Mate! 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hi, I want to buy this system. I want to buy the tote and stack my dewalt organiser on top of the tote. Is this possible as the handle does fold down. I also noticed the the Stanley tote looks identical to Dewalt but as mentioned Stanley is cheaper in Toolststion

It looks like the pin housing broke, and so a stronger pin might not have helped. There's a shot of the broken Dewalt latch hinge pins on this video: n5HxwDHURe8

my front clips came off and I can't get them back in. Any suggestions?

Prostak is Tstak 1.0 with Tstak 2.0 connecting clasps. Tstak 2.0 has an IP rating plus bigger closing clasps. Same company so my guess is they wanted to get some more sales from the older molds by putting the sister brands logo on it.

Shame the fatmax have gone in price to around £36. Wanted to get a few. They were £20 for a while. Good video and I'm going to subscribe.

Please can you tell me which one of both is more durable

I'd use the warranty to get a new clip or case.

That's interesting. They are identical so somehow are Stanley related to DeWalt or is just the DeWalt patent expired and Stanley's coping it. very interesting. I have a whole t-stack system. Never had a problem with clipse.

Lol, ..never knew Stanley fits the DeWalt TSTAK, ...just don't stak them up too heavy and you're fine. A high stacked doesn't fit in my car anyway
