Plot twist: izukus real quirk was seeing ghosts but he never talked to them so he didn't know. When he started seeing his mom after she died he was so overjoyed to be able to talk to her that he just went with it. A doctor prescribed him medicine to stop the quirk from working but when no one was around to force him to take it he wouldn't so that he could see his mom.
