Modern Warfare style animation in After Effects

I had this idea of creating an animation which would look like the loading screens from Call of Duty 4 or Modern Warfare 2. They're pretty amazing.
This is only 10 seconds long but took 5 minutes to render :S
and my PC is decent, it was because of all the elements and motion blur and stuff...
I didn't think it through that well, i made everything in After Effects,
i think if i made some of the graphics in Photoshop and imported them as graphics it would have worked better.
It's a quick test to see how it would look. I quite like it but the thought of creating a minute or so long animation and rendering it makes my head spin.
Well, let me make it clear, im not a professional VFX artist and i dont have a £20k iMac and a rander farm. :)
I can analyse it well and i see what i haven't done. Advice still very much welcome, thanks.
Please let me know what you think as well as the best setting for rendering with After Effects if you know that shit... :P
