I just wanted to let you know that I’m now 10 days post kidney transplant. I feel so much better already. GFR went from 3 to a GFR of 65. I remember watching your videos and I would have so much hope. You are truly a beautiful soul on the inside and most definitely out. I pray that you receive your transplant soon and live your life. Thank you so much for sharing your kidney disease struggle as you are so brave for doing so. Love you Dawn Evans.. Stay strong. <3

I did this for a bit over a year in 2016. My kidneys came back! Last week my gfr was 52. There is always a miracle.

As a registered dietitian that works with many dialysis patients both PD and HD seeing you take such care with your PD sessions and equipment is a breath of fresh air! Youd be surprised at how many people are very unsafe and unsanitary which further increases the already high risk of infection.

Hi Guys, I am in my 70s and has been doing Peritonial Dialysis at home times a day and am using 1.5 bags. I opted for the manual type because it is only 20 mins draining and 10 mins filling up. It’s been more than a year now and I feel really great and healthy. I still do volunteer work at a nursing home close y, do my daily chores without any problem. I have a PD machine fr Baxter but I preferred the manual so I myself can control the process instead of using the machine all night while sleeping. FOLKS..do not be scared. It is not scary . It’s just the word “. DIALYSIS”. That people are scared but it will make life healthier. GOD BLESS US ALL WHO ARE IN THIS PREDICAMENT.

My dad was one of the first HOME dialysis patients. We had a TV crew come to our house to interview us. My mom learned how to use the machine, it was a lot different then. When my dad was connected to the machine, hoses ran down our shower and we all stayed awake listening for alarms all night while he was on it. He ran on it 3 times a week. He had both his kidneys removed and was not a candidate for transplant so he could not use the bathroom, the machine did it for him. He did pass. And mother had to much stress from him and also passed.

Thanks for the video. I just started PD a couple of weeks ago. Its definitely a life changer. I was feeling discouraged and depressed that I have to go though this at such a young age. I felt like my life was over. Its good to see other people keeping a positive outlook while on PD. It helps me with my anxiety.

You're such a brave girl doing your treatment carefully and calm. I am 73 yrs. old with CKD stage 3b. Trying to control and watch out for my diet to avoid dialysis. Hope to reach the age of 80 and I'm ready to go. Good luck to us and all kidney patients. 😊😊

Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the time to share this intimate part of your life! My husband recently had his PD catheter placed and we’re about to go into training once he heals fully. This video was EXACTLY what I was looking for to help me actually see what our lives will look like. You are Godsend. I hope you are still doing well. Thank you so much.

I know it's 2 years later, but this is honestly really cool to see this machine in use (as much as it sucks that it HAS to be used.) I work with a company that builds these very machines (I actually worked on the doors where the cassette sits and the monitors today), so it's interesting to see it fully and in use.

God bless you. I did my daughter dialysis in the 90s at home. It wasn't this easy then, she received her transplant then at age 12. Doing fine. May God continue to bless and protect you. It takes a lot of courage to show this publicly. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for this video. I am at a GFR of 15, so I am told that I will have to do this soon while I am waiting to be approved for a transplant. I am scared to death quite honestly and the rollercoaster of emotions is just overwhelming at times. I feel like I am being swept into a version of my life that I despise.

I’m so nervous. I go tomorrow to get my pd catheter installed. I’m at a center right now getting dialysis and researching. Thank you for this video. It’s overwhelming but very educational.

I am a 79 yr old woman who has been fighting kidney failure for 15 years but now time is running out for me. I am very active and have decided that peritoneal is best for me with the reasoning that the ups and downs for feeling well is les with this method. My doctors agree with this decision. My GFR 6 weeks ago was 21 and I just ho;d my breath each time I go for blood work. Thank you very much for giving me some idea of what my future is going to look like. God Bless. Kathy

Thank you for your demonstration of this process. I am probably within 6 weeks of getting an abdominal shunt. I am 69 and have been blessed to have avoided this for 15-20 years. My daughter found your video and sent me a link. You make this look very doable and I am already well acquainted with clean technique. Wish you many more years of managing your kidney disease. Thank you.

She's so beautiful. And there are do many steps I can't believe she does this by herself. Good job.
