👉 Learn how to find the partial sum of an arithmetic series. A series is the sum of the terms of a sequence. An arithmetic series is the sum of the terms of an arithmetic sequence. The formula for the sum of n terms of an arithmetic sequence is given by Sn = n/2 [2a + (n - 1)d], where a is the first term, n is the term number and d is the common difference. Where the last term is known, we can use Sn = n/2 (a + l) where l is the last term.

While finding the A sub n, another way is just substituting the a sub n with 10 and still get the same number which is 13. Without going through the whole process of a sub n is equal to -3n + 43. It just seemed easier this way but still a great vid.

When you write 40 + (n-1) - 3 it looks like you are subtracting 3. Use parentheses, that's what they are there for.

do you know there's an easier way?
example: 40, 37, 34, , 31...n=10
(just continue it)
like this: 40, 37, 34, 31, 28, 25, 22, 19, 16, 13
then add them all up and you'll end up with same answer:265

I use dis formula "Sn=n(A1+A2) / 2" yet I got the answer of 385 O.o instead of 265... I thought even though I use a different formula I expect it to have the same output as yours, Unfortunately, I wasn't able to the find the same answer of yours...
