FILM DESCRIPTION:
In one of his most famous roles, Steve McQueen stars as tough-guy police detective Frank Bullitt. The story begins with Bullitt assigned to a seemingly routine detail, protecting mafia informant Johnny Ross (Pat Renella), who is scheduled to testify against his Mob cronies before a Senate subcommittee in San Francisco. But when a pair of hitmen ambush their secret location, fatally wounding Ross, things don't add up for Bullitt, so he decides to investigate the case on his own. Unfortunately for him, ambitious senator Walter Chalmers (Robert Vaughn), the head of the aforementioned subcommittee, wants to shut his investigation down, hindering Bullitt's plan to not only bring the killers to justice but discover who leaked the location of the hideout.

I love the way Bullitt won’t even look at Capt. Baker. Really hates him. 😂😂

McQueen, Vaughn, Oakland, Gordon; all-stars cast into one movie - sure don't make 'em like this anymore.

Norman Fell..an underrated performer best known as Mr. Roper on 'Three's Company.' But he'd been in some high-quality films as a character actor: this film, 'Pork Chop Hill' (1959), 'It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' (1963), 'The Killers' (1964) and the landlord in 'The Graduate' (1967.) His best role was the dour-faced Sgt. Towser in 'Catch-22' (1970)--his long scene with Bob Newhart is deadpan comedy at its best.

If ever there was a boss you could trust to have your back, Captain Bennett is it. The same goes for Captain Queenan (Martin Sheen) in ‘The Departed...’

The look on Simon O's eyes as he's turning his head towards the table kills. i.t. You know it does. Says more than anything else in the whole scene. Right in there with "I never had it so..."

While - conveniently - no other motorists were present when the bad guys were shooting at Steve in his Mustang, there were a great many witnesses to other parts of the car chase. So had it been necessary, those people could have been questioned as to what was going on then.
