I would like to publicly thank Leica for launching such a great product. It's a brave thing to do in this day-and-age in a global market with all competitors going the other way; and by other way I mean a soulless photography future in which automatic cameras do everything for the photographer. This camera allows us to showcase our talent in a much deeper way, and not only that, it helps us to separate the process of taking a picture from the process of revealing it. I'm an M10 user myself, now I shall sell it and get an M10-D.

I have many many Leica's and this one is by far my favourite camera of them all. I just returned from the protests in Hong Kong and was totally in the element as the camera never got in the way and didn't beg for attention with previous feature-filled digital cameras. This is a special camera and I was a skeptic at first - now I'm a believer.

Well done Leica. Same lever as on my MP. I am using it as thumb rest at the same position as well. Really cool.

Is there any function at lever? Ex under not moved lever, cant to take pics?

The film advance lever, why did they do this? The camera didn’t need it it just seems fake to me.

Pointless windlever if it does not cock the shutter. At this stage this camera should have the highest number of frames per full battery charge (no LCD, no EVF, no top LCD) but it does not. Pity :( .. just buy a film camera.

I prefer a stroke that can be fully pushed, not just a thumb grip that can only be pushed halfway...

Seriously. You guys finally decided to put that film advance lever on the new M-D.... and then just as a thumb rest? You serious... Leica you were so close, but it seems you do not understand your own products. Cmon buy yourself an Epson R-D1 and go out shoot with it and you will realize what you missed (again). We dont love that thing just because it is a feels good in the hand. This really makes me sad.

Waiting for all of the negative comments from those who feel they're somehow superior because they use film. I use a digital M only because it works well for me. That doesn't make either film or digital better. It depends on what the owner wants. This looks like a great photographic tool for those who use digital.
