On my 2012 Prado ZR you have to push the little stick forward right after you push the button to turn it on.

Hey Anthony, I have always had an issue with my Sept 2007 build 120 VX where the cruise function clears its memory if the car goes below 40 km/h which means that you cannot use the resume function after stopping at traffic lights etc. Toyota have always maintained that this is normal operation for a cruise control but I have driven many cruise equipped cars that don't clear their memory under 40km/h. Is it your understanding that this is the norm for Toyota cruise control?

I liked it but more details would an advantage.

Here in Ireland the Business spec Land cruiser does not come with adaptive cruise control despite costing well in excess of 80k euro. Crazy and typical of the ripoff culture in this country.
I dont know why anyone would favour standard cruise control over adaptive. With standard if the person in front slows down on a motorway, you have to break and disable cruise until you can resume travelling at the set speed safely, if the motorway is in any way busy, you'll be switching it on and off constantly, its pointless. Adaptive is night and day better.

Thanks. Very annoying feature in my opinion and ridiculous that I had to look up how to turn it off. Toyota need to completely redesign their ugly user interfaces. Great cars but horrible user friendliness to me.
