Isaac Asimov was brilliant for creating "The Laws Of Robotics", and forever changed how robots would be portrayed on television, movies & books.

Well said. Asimov was a creative genius. I still reread him today at 75.

This is exactly how my grandmother pronounced, "robot." It drove me nuts. But she passed her love of Asimov down to me 💜.

A bit of trivia, if you're interested:

"I, Robot" was a " The Outer Limits" episode - "I, Robot" Season 2/Episode 9.

"Bicentennial Man" was a "Twilight Zone" episode - "I Sing The Body Electric" Season 3/Episode 35.

“Rest assured, all lethal military androids have been taught to read and provided one copy of The Laws of Robotics. To share.”

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Is this where they got the inspiration for the voice of Dr Zoidberg?!?

Today I learned the guys in 1950s sci fi were indeed pronouncing the word robot correctly. 😊

Well, it's better than no rules.
By the way, Asimov made one more rule. All humankind stay above one human life. BUT that means we should give up on our freedom.
For everyone safety.

This is how ""in theory"" a robot/machine should be made.
