Today #IFD Chief Ernest Malone unveiled IFD Project Washout becoming the 1st dept. in the U.S. to integrate advanced #ArtiCleanOzone technology into a comprehensive, in-house, gear maintenance, management & repair program. FF's now have hospital grade sanitation & cancer carcinogen removal. Previously this kind of cleaning was only available through outsourcing at a cost between $850K to $1.6 per year for a Dept. of IFD’s size. At a cost of $100K, Project Washout, in conjunction w/ our in-house repair shop, complies w/ the recent change in @nfpadotorg 1851 standard addressing gear care. 2x a year minimum, the dept will be able to permanently utilize advanced level ozone cleaning, service, repair & maintainence for each IFD FF's - 2 sets of gear.
