NANOBOT
(Music: 'Havana' by Camila Cabello)

To plan a nanobot
Map out the molecules to span the nanobot
Add on the motors used to man the nanobot
Signals to talk with a commander
Software and logic's grammar
Programmed in nanobot

Beginning you better control the movement
(The thermal storm abrew)
Room temperature systems are always moving
(Your system's moving too)
The pieces and links you pick will
limit
(The states it can assume)
As is it'll randomly shuffle through them

Now force it with the right
Fuel
Ordered and energetic
A bias in the setup
Adding entropy through
A cycle that'll let it
Put work to load
Oh na na nanobot

So plan your nanobot
With steps whose opposite'll jam the nanobot
Barriers free energy expenditure will drop
To let it pass and then to catch it
Go through the door and latch it
A ratchet nanobot

Let's see
You've animated these lil' gadgets? Damn!
Next let's see you handle informatics fam
(Nano-informatics)
1-0 the structure of a cache or RAM
Switches are the way to data save and plan (flip it on)
Flip it chemically
Photochemically
Or electrically
Add a flippable knee (then what?)
Make a little more deep
The decisional tree (data)
If you need a calculator how be
Logic gates, like "a, not b"
Input's a cation, as key (that's key)
And you get a photon as a reading

So plan your nanobot
To be in part an info scanner nanobot
Reading and writing coded data that allot
Freedom to do as you program it
A Turing automatic
Full gamut nanobot

Doesn't that look life-like? (x3)

(Break me down I am)

A metananobot
The muse and model of synthetic nanobots
Working in concert as a replicable lot
For all I try to be more than it
Though sentient and organic
I am a nanobot

I can't get over how good this is. I know I should just expect that from this channel by now, but I'm still somehow surprised.

Admit it or not, it's much harder to make the song stcik to the topic, make sense, sound good, and have exactly the same rhyme scheme everywhere
He's a genius

“Program a nanobot” fits the rhythm of the song better than the actual lyrics lol

This is seriously incredible, amazing work Tim!

THE FACT THAT PROTEINS ARE ESSENTIALLY NANOBOTS JUST BLEW MY MIND!!!!

The slow burn that it’s a song about cellular biology is still one of the top twists of all time

I love your nerdy versions of songs better than the originals. ❤️

This is amazing!

Putting the "conceptual" diagrams next to actual proteins used by microorganisms that demonstrate the concepts illustrated so elegantly allows the viewer to naturally connect the ideas in their head. Genuinely an incredible video.

Organic chemistry... Think you'd be willing to do one in the style of Linkin Park? Please?

Linkin Carbon
(Orgo Chem)

(It starts with)
Benzene, demystify
It's all about matter, check, verify
Carbon that binds, atoms aligned to combine
Explain the enzymes

(All I know)
“C” forms a covalent ring
Watch it show up in spectrometry
See it count up in the usual way
We build life this way

(It's so unreal)
Chemical math will show
Mass is conserved and entropy grows
Trying to hold on to electric charge flow
For covalent bonds to

(Molecule grow!)
Balance elements each side, reaction codified
It's a work of art
With this chemistry we'll eventually make 'em cleverly
Molecules that we can use
Without no harm
In the end
It's all about matter
Make cortisol
Or methanol
In the end
It's all about matter

Amines, the alkane chain
Nitrogenous molecules in aryl rings
Keep that in mind, atoms that bind
To fill valances with

(Shared electrons)
Despite assays, there's poor purity
Refine lab processes to maturity
Wash solutions, titrate and heat to precisely
Create a molecule

Things aren't the way they were before
Alchemy's dead, there's no magic in it anymore
Not that it worked back then
But it all comes back to “C”
(Orgo Chem!)

Know when you acidify an organic sulfide
It smells like a fart
With this chemistry we'll eventually make 'em cleverly
Molecules that we can use
Without no harm
In the end
It's all about matter
Make insulin
Or epinephrine
In the end
It's all about matter

Linus Pauling
It was you
Who figured out the code
Chemical bonds Organic chemists need to know
See the table
Read the code
Match them up
As you go
Fill the shells
Organic chemists need to know

Molecules that we can use
In the end, it's all about matter
Like building blocks
Our molecules
In the end, it's all about matter.

another solid hit, i'm a biologist with zero robotics background and i feel like i learned something! the side by side diagrams and animations of biomolecules was like a lightbulb moment. time to read all those references while i loop this video for 4 hours.

You are underrated, it would be kinda cool if you taught classes on YouTube explaining parts of your songs and their meaning/history

Quality over quantity! Totally worth it!

Honestly, I don't mind the long wait times between your covers! Every time you put out a new cover, I spend days just listening to it on repeat - then I start researching the topic trying understand all of the lines in the song on a deeper level. This basically gaps the entire wait time - until a you put out a new cover I can start researching!

Thank you both for your awesome work! You're amazing!

You never fail to surprise me with your clever position of words to mimic the original lyrics while also conveying a coherent scientific message. The harmonies are perfect as always!

Dorothy just has the brightest smile ever and I love her voice! The two of them go so well together with this song!

Watching Dorothy looking like she was struggling to keep from busting out laughing was part of the fun of this video.
