Are we not gonna bring up how the same happens to Donkey Kong but not only did he live, but some Mario games change the formula to where it can’t be purgatory due to it being too complex, also the only real evidence is Donkey Kong 3 having a different protagonist, but so does every retro DK game

You're right - I _don't_ believe it.

1) DK got up from a similar crash height in the past, and 2) believing this theory requires accepting Stanley the Bugman as the real protagonist, which lbr does anyone in their right or wrong mind care about Stanley the Bugman?

I don't think that Mario and Jumpman is one person. Mario is that guy that we know, but Jumpman isn't. Also, in some games Donkey Kong steals Pauline from Mario because he remembers Jumpman who died, and think that they're is one person. Also, Mario's world isn't real, but it's not purgatory. Like, there's freaking giant monkey that loves woman and a plumber who can jump high and have void in his pocket for coins and Power-Ups.
