How to Use APS-C Crop on the Sony a7S II

While a full-frame sensor is nice, you may find that you need to go back to Super35 sometimes. Here's how you can do it.

You should add that this is only when shooting in 1080p. In 4 k you can’t use apsc mode as the a7sii is only 12 MP thus making any crop on the sensor, smaller than 4K (that’s why the menu won’t let you). People try to get around this by using clear image zoom but the same problem mentioned above applies here also.

I have a sony a7s ii with a metabones adaptor and I'm using a canon 24-105mm and I'm getting the black ring when I'm recording video. Does this mean I cant shoot 4k with this setup?

Why would you want to crop anyway? Why not just shoot in full frame?
