Sound Action 218 - Goblet Drum

A "sound action" is a multimodal entity consisting of body motion and its resultant sound. When we only see a sound action, we can imagine its sound. If we only hear a sound action, we can imagine the body motion and objects involved in the interaction. I have written some more about it in this blog post:

Throughout 2022, I will publish one sound action daily. These will be short video recordings of particular sound actions. The idea is to allow people to reflect on various types of everyday sound actions. It is also meant as a countdown to the publication of my book Sound Actions (The MIT Press 2022).
