What is Fios? (& Why You Should Absolutely Get It)

It's sort of a joke between me and my other friends on YouTube. "You can come to my place and upload your video if you need--I have Fios".

And honestly, there is a good reason why this is a thing. But for those that maybe have heard the term but are curious about what Fios is actually, I figured I'd break it down for you guys in a quick video.

Full disclosure: I have had Fios in my apartment for over a year and love it, but Verizon was kind enough to collaborate with me in creating this video to show you guys how it actually works.

I live in Switzerland, and recently got the equivalent to your fios; to be honest it's great when it works properly. The issue I have, is that I need to run the Ethernet through special wall plugs to get from my router tp my computer. The speeds advertised are there, but I've found that in my older appartment building when doing this it basically limits you to 10% of those. Thankfully 5GHz Wifi is blazing fast.
In a special case like this it's good to keep in mind that you need the proper installations.

They’re friggin great. I love fios and love my gigabit internet. The one thing I didn’t like and I’m sure others did not either is that Verizon actually sponsored you to make this video. Therefore it’s not genuine and you’re just a shill. Period.

They just installed Google Fiber in my neighborhood, and it cam available a week after I signed up with a 2 yr. contract with WOW cable. Damit man! LOL! I had them run the fiber cables to my house anyway so that I can get fiber internet when my contract is over. Great vid as usual my friend.

I live pretty close to one of those cities listed, but I've been waiting like 5 years to reach my house. I have spectrum and it's terrible, they offer "100up 10down" but it's more like 80 up and 3 down IF their network isn't down

I have this all installed in my garage. It's great it's but when I do a speed test in the living room it's only like 50mbs vs 200 in my garage. Do you think it's worth having a technician move the router into a more central part of our townhome or trying a wifi booster? Thanks great video.

Have been on fios from the start in the DC area, I cringe when it comes to cable.

Fios sucks it has such slow WiFi and it’s so restricted on many channels and the WiFi goes out almost every second

Not all of us are able to get Fios. The building where I live in the Bronx does not allow the installation of satellite dishes. I don't understand why not. It is frustrating. I am stuck with Optimum who does not deserve even a star. I wonder why Optimum is still in business. Fios is the best period.
