Final Tip: Don't abandon your pet rock. It has feelings, it's alive. And it can move to get it's revenge..

DO note that a lot of people seem to not mention: Necromancy is a P2P skill, as a F2P you can level it up to level 20.

newer player here. I have played before but I was a kid. Quests are 100% something you should do at the start. My account i've done 100qp on the first day, 200qp 1 week and after a month 300 qp. the amount of exp and treasure hunter keys you get early game is insane. and it will help you progress your account quickly.

The beauty about RS is your account never goes backwards. Other MMO’s do resets on content releases, but Runescape’s simply stack on top of the old content. If you’ve been gone for a few years, your character is still as powerful as it was when you were playing (maybe even stronger), now it just has a higher ceiling for you to reach. Once you understand that, it’s easy to not worry about the FOMO and it’s easier to enjoy the game. I take a 6 months on / 6 months off approach to the game and this is the #1 thing I’ve come to realize that helps make RS so enjoyable, cause there’s just no rush even though it feels like there is.

As someone coming back to the game having been away for over 10 years (and someone who will has his 20-year old RS account), I really appreciate the tips from you and the community.
Going to give RS3 a try and see how I get on - the nostalgia of just looking at my bank, which is like a snapshot in time, brings great memories!

My biggest tips:
Do all the non members quests and available diaries before paying for the game, otherwise it will seem too boring and you'll likely get swept up in members things and then its a chore to go back later

2: play however you want, but try and do at least one quest a day, quest cape is a daunting but highly rewarding achievement and will not feel too bad if you just do a daily or every other day quest

3: god wars 1 is for learning combat, god wars 2 is for learning dps after you know the system, everything else can be done earlier but i highly recommend these 2 sections of the game for learning while making some coins

4: necromancy is broken and cheap

5: have fun and look for guilds, even if you're a primarily solo player, citidels give buffs and talking to people is more fun than just using wiki non stop

Clue scrolls are a baller on a budgets dream. Seriously all it takes is one dye drop from a clue scrolls for you to level your account up in a major way. Also huge for getting fortunate components stocked up before you’ll need them! Plus clue scrolls will give you proper motivation to level many different skills and unlock different areas!

I like the phrase analysis paralysis. It's a great way to describe me trying to play catch up with years and years of content. Working on something afk while frantically flipping through tabs upon tabs of the wiki.

Thanks for making this. I last played about 4 years ago, and the amount of changes is fantastic. And to see they have such long-term plans for the future of Gielenor

Hello! I’m a OSRS player, and have been since 2012, but I’ve been kinda interested in checking RS3 out just to try out some different skills that aren’t in osrs. Thanks for making this! (It’s the most recent professional guide I can find.)

Necromancy and Forinthy are definitely some Key Quests to start up on. As someone who played OSRS exclusively up until last year and decided to check out their OG character and the new content ive fallen in love with the Fort and has even made me look at construction as a skill which i hated prior. so much QOL in those areas,

Menaphos aint shabby either, my next goal is Priff (hopefully im at the requirements by end of this DXP)

Skills often have fairly AFK ways of training, and there are some really afk ways to make money as well. If you don't really feel like playing or want minimal input, find those methods and do them while you do other things. Things like using Perfect Juju Mining potions and stone spirits, or filling your inventory with unfinished smithing projects, or Yoga in Priff. There are lots of very or extremely afk things you can do to take a break yet still progress in useful or meaningful ways.

I am an on and off player. And all I do is do questing and grind for super rare items you can get from kills. I know it's very pvp/pvm oriented but. It's what I like to do lol. Runescape is a fun game and don't worry about getting caught up in the game. Enjoy the game for what it is.

iv been boss pet hunting and not worrying about the drops... so far i have all of the GW1 and GW2 boss pets and im slowly moving up through the harder bosses and learning as i go...
the pets just give me a fun goal to shoot for whilst i learn all the new boss mechanics

I gotta say that I am a returning player, my account is over 10 years old, lvl 98 and when I got back into runescape (rs3 as it is now) I was free and mind you I was always a member. So this morning I became a member again and first thing I had pop up was the necromancy quest line! Was awesome as I was def wanting to get thst started!

I'm a returning player and I haven't played since 2018 and I feel severely lost, lol. Me playing Souls games made me miss the online interaction I had with players online. So, I'll slowly be opening up to Runescape again and this has been a helpful video!

I'm a returning player from way back when normal runescape was still old school runescape so I've got a lot to relearn.

I'm just returning, having left shortly after archeology was released... This is VERY helpful, thank you so much for the video.
