Historic Preservation and Adaptive Reuse

Показать описание
Seattle is a city that respects and protects its history, resulting in creative uses for its iconic buildings. From maintaining the existing facade and erecting new structures just behind them, now fashionably referred to as “facadectomies”, to expanding or reusing historic buildings, adaptive reuse helps to maintain a sense of history and character in a neighborhood. Join us as we highlight three recent projects that embraced landmark preservation and adaptive reuse: The State Hotel, McMenamin’s Elk Temple, and Seattle Asian Art Museum.
Our panel has worked on adaptive reuse projects as architects, structural engineers, owner’s reps, and developers.
Moderator - Melissa Teichman, OAC Services
Marie Ternes, P.E., S.E., Coughlin Porter Lundeen, Inc.
Pamela Trevithick, AIA, NCARB, LEED, GA, LMN Architects
Patrick Foley, Lake Union Partners
Learn more about their unique perspectives and challenges at the March CREW Seattle Luncheon “Historic Preservation and Adaptive Reuse – New Uses for Timeless Classics.”
