Don't ask a Woman: Her age.
Don't ask a Man: His salary.
Don't ask an old Ukrainian: What he did to Poles in 1940s.

Edit: This comment is NOT current war related! Im just trying to say that every country has a dark past!
Please. Stop hating eachother in comments!

The problem isn't Russians over representing Ukranian Nazi collaborators from WW2.

The problem is Ukraine glorifying those collaborators in a misguided attempt to create a distinct and separate identity from Russia. Ever since 2014 Ukraine has taken more and more steps to differentiate itself from Russia by cutting cultural ties such as renaming historic cities, separating from the Orthodox church, tearing down historic monuments, revoking Russian language rights, and of course praising those who fought agianst Russia even if they're literal Nazi's.

Ukraine played a big role in WW2 and no one sensible in Russia denies that, but Ukraine itself is trying to distance itself from that Soviet past, thinking that'll it'll score points with westerners who despise everything Russian.

Yes, but nowadays the Ukrainians treat Stephan Bandera as a hero, even though he wasn't big back then, his influence now is way bigger

(Speaking as a Polish) Thats honestly concering that on the internet more foreigners are speaking about Volhynian Genocide than in mainstream polish media or even during normal talk between people. Its like a tabu nowadays, if you say something unsupportive about ukrainians you are automaticly called a russian troll or some other shit. Like the massess are so obsessed about helping them that they actively supress their concerns and memories. And shit there are still some that were alive during this massacres and many more who lost their families by the ukrainian murderers. I dont understand my nation.

In fact, more than a million Soviet citizens fought on the side of Nazi Germany, including more than 500 thousand ethnic Russians. The difference is that in Russia they are considered scoundrels and traitors, and to call someone a Vlasov is to insult him. While in Ukraine, at the state level, these bastards are considered heroes, monuments are erected to them and museums are opened. Moreover, they draw identification marks in the form of crosses on their military equipment, clearly copying the Nazi Wehrmacht.

We all know that the vast majority of Ukrainians fought against Germany. That is not the point. The point is - now those who helped Germans are heroes of Ukraine. Bandera is a national hero. They name streets after him.

It’s weird that despite having a relatively low number of Nzi collaborators Ukrainians erected so many statues of them.

You forgot to include the Ukraine "help" police that assisted the ss in camps.

Veterans of SS Galichina division marched in Kiev a few years back, and not a single one of them were harassed meanwhile ww2 veterans were being harassed and attacked in daylight. Few days ago I just saw a sign of that said division next to a small business that is owned by an Ukrainian. As a US Veteran that pissed me off.

Ukrainians were often used as guards in concentration camps like the Sobibor extermination camp where Ukrainian guards outnumbered the germans by 10 to 1.

But if you are ripping down monuments to the 6 million Ukrainians who fought for the red army and celebrating pro nazis you have to worry about where the priorities of the Ukrainian state lay
