It's almost comical people are freaking out over a .50% rate hike while we are a freaking zero! Rates should be 5 or 6 percent right now. Bunch of greedy sob's running the show at the expense of regular people.

The economic hardship, recession, unemployment and the loss of job caused by covid pandemic is enough to push people into financial ventures. I'm taking a trip into investing because I lost so much during this pandemic. Multi creation of wealth is the best strategy to ensure financial sustainability...

They have to revise how they calculate CPI that's why the FED is too far behind because of the rigged data. Great video and informative data....thx Steven.

Excellent report and presentation of the stats 👏 How will the astronomical monthly trade deficit affect the interest?

How in the heck do you come up with we need more easing when that's what got us in this mess . It was a slow train wreck that is just hitting the wall now . What are we supposed to do go into a inflationary death spiral ? Losing faith my friend

Steve, the effective Fed Funds rate this time is NEGATIVE. In previous times, it was in the positive territory. What u are suggesting is incorrect. The Fed has to raise because they are already losing the bond market because they are so far behind the curve. Long rates were going up long before the Fed decided to tighten. Bonds are trading at two year lows. We are technically still in an easing mode and long bonds have indigestion. It means the Fed actions are neutered at this point. Raising 1/2% into a 7% inflation is meaningless. The market cannot digest the amount of debt and the Fed has to raise by a lot or it will get worse. They should try 2% for starters. They cannot keep rates effectively negative indefinitely because the level of debt is ginormous. The Fed has penalized savers for over 12 years with effective ZERO INTEREST RATE POLICY. There is always a day of reckoning.

The Bond 10-2 year yield curve just dropped 0.2% too, not looking good.

If wages are not keeping up with inflation, is’nt that a good thing? I mean, it means that the largest component of inflation, labour prices are declining… so ultimately prices must also not grow as fast going out??
