Where to Eat in the Athens Market

Markets always have some of the most traditional and authentic fare in any given city, and the Athens Central Market, or Varvakeios Agora, is no exception. The market is changing though, so alongside traditional eateries like Epiros and the old local meze places, you'll also find hip sushi bars and Italian pasta places, both a little odd for a Greek market, if I may say so!
The traditional places attract all sorts of people, from locals to visitors, and it's here that you'll find interesting casseroles, vegetable and bean stews, tripe, and more. So, next time your in Athens make sure to go for a meal somewhere inside the market. Check out my Athens food walks, too!

👏👏👏I’d order the beans, cauliflower, tomatoes, olives, and skip the meat market. 😂

That is me in the video! I had just had lunch. I think you have to get there early as what I had was stone cold.
