I don't mind a female led Predator movie, since that's literally what Prey was. I don't think that's the problem.

What I do agree with is that the fun of the Predator movies is very real people in their line of duty going up against alien hunters with advanced technology, and then learning to rely on their wits. Predator and Predators relied on people who have a heavy military backgrounds, Predator 2 had it be street cops, and Prey had Native American warriors. Having your main characters come from some advanced laboratory in the future has the potential to weaken the contrast between grounded weapons combat vs advanced weaponry combat.

But if it's a good script, and we get more predator movies, I'm open to them trying new things.

You really misunderstand the distain for “strong female characters” it isn’t because people hate woman in power. There are many franchises where the “man babies” love woman in power. It’s when they make woman in power like they do in Acolyte. Where they do it to insult their fans.

It’s not an agenda to push strong women up in movies it’s the agenda that women weren’t already strong leads before and when the project solely revolves around trying to do that as the reason for making a movie it’s usually if not always complete shit. People are sick of bad writing and stupid thinking from movie executives.

The Predator Franchise needs to stick to the formula of taking place in different periods in history. People have been wanting a Predator set in Feudal Japan with Samurai, we could have a Victorian Era Predator movie set in England, maybe one set during the Civil War, even a film with Pirates. I think that would make them more interesting since having stories set in the future have been done to death.
