Told my boss I'd need time off work as my wife had been murdered.

He asked how long I would need.

Told him "About 20 years, with good behaviour".

I spent 14 years inside. Got out at 35. Now I’m 43 and got kids and house and everything I lost back. Never let your past define you.

Worked with a guy who was in prison from the age of 18 to 33. As a trainer I've heard every complaint and every callout. This guy was the hardest working individual I had ever met, always cracking jokes, never having a bad day always listened and followed instructions.

Sorry, Wes, but your appearance on Fresh & Fit told us all we need to know.

Had a coworker who did 10 years and got out at 34. Worked multiple jobs to support his daughter, he recently got a promotion at one of his jobs and was able to quit the job we worked at together. My guy is pretty much set now, I’ve never had a more easy going happy co worker, who was grateful for life and freedom every day. He earned his right to live more comfortably.

I had a Nokia cell phone when i went into the feds in 2004. Got out at the end of 2014. I weighed 227 pounds with 11% body fat at 6'4". Mindset on point. Respectful and always on time.
I went to get a phone and didn't have a clue as to what the guy was saying to me. After 10 minutes i said, "listen, i just got out of prison". Dude looked at me and started over but when he was done i understood. I went to a bank to open an account and i opened with, "i just got out of prison" and the woman explained everything in a way i could easily understand. Almost everyone was respectful and extremely helpful.

As the cell phone store worker, I can confirm we 100% didn’t know who this guy was.

I spent 10 days in jail and when I got out I said I’d never go again. My friends talk shit jokingly about not being “real” and I said you got damn right! Some take years, some take days to get the same message.

This is super humbling. Wife divorced me after 10 years we got together so young she was all I knew and took the house kids car all of it. I was stranded and homeless walking to my job taco bell but re enrolled in to college and lost 60 pounds in the gym. Feels like the world has passed you by and being older in a college environment has been strange but I also care much less about what people think of me now and understand that I can't count on anyone but myself in life. All you kings/queens reading this... it's not too late until your dead so keep going strong and remember that you aren't the only one struggling. I love you.

Fun fact: you don't need to go to prison for ten years to get a strong mindset and clarity!

I worked with a ex bank robber that got out after 10 years and my man worked hard and saved up money and stayed the hell away from drugs. He now has a nicer car than me and completely turned his life around and i was there literally the day he got out and saw him move right up in the world! The drugs got him there and he didnt go back and he appreciated the rides and help i gave him and honestly im proud of the guy 👍🇺🇸

My grandma picked my dad up from prison after 3 years and drove him straight to his first job making cabinets, about 25 years later he's one of the most popular, well off, stand up guys in the whole town, almost everyone knows him and has only good things to say. There were hundreds of people at his 50th birthday party.

Some people got the mindset, most dont

Moral of the story: Get arrested for 10 years because it makes you stronger and better

Did 10yrs, got out at 44, 47 now. Started from scratch. Got a house, a job and doing great. 10yrs gives you enough time to think, read and gets you ready to be successful
