What a perfect upgrade! I was looking for something for my DJI F550, currently not very long flights with factory props and motors and doesn't fly much longer with 4s batteries than it did with 3s. I was looking some type of motor extension when I found your video, awesome setup, thanks for sharing.

Which gimbal did you use, and how did you mount it, with such a low ground clearance ?
Would like to build a budget look-alike if poss using maybe a 450 or 680 folding as a base, then extending the arms.

That thing is unbelievable! I just bought the parts for two new multirotor builds - a hexacopter on a Tarot 680 frame and a small FPV quad. What do you use for FPV? Do you like what you have? I have been looking at the Fat Shark and Skyzone goggles, but I can't make up my mind between the different versions, or if I just want a ground station. Also, it sounds like the 5.8ghz signals don't have great range.... I want to be able to fly at least a half mile, if not further.

Ok, so that was a lot harder than I thought it would be.  The arm connectors came out 2mm too small, so I made a filler piece out of a fat cable tie.  I broke a couple of pieces in the process, that stuff is kind of fragilay.  I will test fly tomorrow. I made some make shift landing gear under the chassis out of plastic stoppers, just to get it off the ground.  I'm thinking perhaps attaching something mid arm to take stress off of the arm connectors?  Anyway, so far so good.

You have not had any issues with the aerialmob arms? I've been reading a lot of reviews where people were having problems with them. I have my 4 KDE motors on order with the dji 15" props and adapters on order. Just need to get the arms now. Did you adjust your Naza settings or just leave them? It looks pretty snappy in the video.

Got my motors, props and tri prop adapters today. Now just need to figure out the arms part.

That's an awesome setup. How long did you make your arm extensions? Are they all the same length?

The motor mounts were fine, I only had to sand them out a little to get the tube to fit in all the way, but the connectors were 2mm short and I had to dremmel out quite a lot to get the tubes to fit. I'll ask what % fill he used.

Hey Bill, if you were to do it again would you change anything?  I think the new extended time upgrades on the TBS site are using 400kv motors on a 6s lipo.  Are or have you thought about going to 6S?
