The idea of Darth Vader being Anakin’s dark clone and Sith counterpart is something I had in mind for two years. I imagined them being equally matched in lightsaber skills, piloting, and powers and abilities in the Force among other things.

It would be awesome to see Anakin and Obi-Wan clash with Vader on Mustafar, with Anakin doing most of the fighting due to Vader throwing Obi-Wan out a couple times until he comes back into the duel again.

To me, the idea of Anakin remaining in the light while a clone of him chooses to be in the dark is more satisfying than Anakin living half his life in the light and the other half in the dark. It gives a more "complete" answer to Luke's question to Yoda in episode 5 if the dark side was stronger, since now two versions of Anakin can reach their full potentials in both sides of the force.
