These vehicles are much too expensive. I think they’re priced to reduce demand. They’re sold out as it is, can you imagine the demand for an Explorer Lightning for $40k?

Awesome idea, you seem to know more info details than EV dedicated channels.

The charge speed is faster, yes. But the consumption is so high that the benefit of the increased charge speed is lost. The true measure of charge speed is how fast can you add miles per minute. The 200kWh battery is mind boggling. The thing weighs enough to cause an earthquake.

The lightning uses new batteries from SKI that will be built in joint venture battery plant with Ford in Georgia and has nothing to do with the LG Chem batteries the Mach E uses (which I think are made in Poland).

Based on those battery sizes and ranges the F-150 is significantly more efficient. Not sure how that is possible, but if true would lead to F-150 having faster charging times than may first appear...at least at chargers that are 150KW or less.

Random comment for the channel, but I wish EV comparisons had more long range comparisons at 75-80 MPH for interstates. Besides taxis and such, I think high range in US mostly matters for highways, and knowing most range tests have 50 MPH max (or use highways at 65 MPH granny speeds) and that range decreases exponentially with higher speed means most "actual" ranges are actually useless.

Definitely a shame both are so expensive. I love the Silverado EV though. I love that they brought the Avalanche’s best feature to it. Again though the price is really steep for most EV’s right now. For most people, EVs aren’t very attainable right now.

How can the Ford not be cheaper. It's using the same old platform as the gas series. No 4 wheel steering. No 4 wheel height adjustment ride. No mid gate. No multi flex tailgate.. No 24" wheels. Slower charging. Less range. Based on those specs. It looks like the Ford is more expensive.

Your graphic for the payload of the Chevy is incorrect as it lists the same numbers as the Ford but you stated the Chevy has much less payload capacity.

Unless you are an EV owner. Who can relate to range and charging capacity. You would understand that this specs are not really impressing if you truly plan on using these vehicles as trucks.

Wait. You like the F150 Lightning because it's more boxing than the Silverado EV. But you like the new Silverado EV more than the gas boxier looking Silverado.

I'll take Ford over China Motors all day.
