The GnuGo game was the most I've laughed in weeks, freaking hilarious. :D "So I'm just gonna hatefully play a move over here..."

As a side note, it's endlessly fascinating to me that as someone who appreciates 17th century go games, music from four years + ago is old to you... Do you mainly listen to one particular genre where you already know most older tracks?

That second game really highlighted the DDK mistake of removing your own opponent's aji with self-defeating forcing moves. He kept ataring your upper stones early, which only helped solidify you. Newer players seem definitely mistake "aggressive play" with "put pressure on and atari every last thing in sight".

I've noticed that kyu level bots tend to fall pretty quickly against a Basic style just because they play small moves and give up their stones for dead without a fight. GnuGo and Cosumi both do that a lot. GoChild is the other decently strong kyu bot I know of on KGS, but I haven't quite beaten it yet so I can't speak to whether it does the same...

Weird stuff with your KGS games. I've played at European times there between 17k and 5k and I don't remember waiting for an auto-match game longer than two minutes or dealing with bots after 15k. About the rank, if you looked at your rank graph, it takes a while to update it; only grade updates are instant.

Sadly, that's just how far the level of play has fallen on KGS.

Why 11k from KGS so weak? Never seen players like this on OGS, Foxy 9k was OK too. What's wrong with KGS? Too big difference...
