I am an alcoholic who keeps relapsing. Despite the number of times that God has pulled me out of the pit. But I absolutely dont give up. I know my God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit have not given up on me. ROMANS is my favourite- I so identify.

I'm dead to sin. I don't need to sin. Sin has no power over me. I choose to follow Jesus.
I choose NOT to sin
It is finished, I'm free. Sin no longer has power over me. I don't have to be a slave to sin. This brings so much joy

So...to believe that you have entered into the death of Christ and that sin no longer has dominion over your life would only be possible for people who actually want to live a godly life.
