Fred Kerley on not running the 100m

Anyone who don't know the sport wouldn't understand but he is a true pro. I said it before the 100m that those blocks are the same one my son has in the garage and he's in high school. Very disappointing for a meet at this caliber. Once an athlete gets cold they risk injuries. Injuries for a track athlete could mean their season. Correct decision that a coach would advise

I'm not sure about how things will play out for him in the coming weeks?, but 1 thing for sure is that he doesn't give basic answers to questions. They asked him " do you feel pressure? " Fred says pressure is not knowing where you're going to sleep at night.

He’s having an extremely rough year and a lot of it is on him but I don’t blame him for today or these comments (or yesterdays) at all. I even agree with most of what he said.

Putting his antics aside, there is no reason that blocks should ever slip. 30 years ago they were manufacturing blocks that had metal bolts that could be anchored in holes in the track (yes, you need tracks with those holes drilled into them), and you jnew 100% that they were never going to slip. Why this was never adopted worldwide is a mystery.
