I've been playing the drums for almost 30 years and I am tone deaf, believe it or not. and I have always utilized torque keys like this. not a lot of people think of tone deaf drummers like me so products like this are a godsend. great video!

I am right there with you. I lost a drum dial by dropping it as well. :( I have one of these keys as well. I bought it for an electronic mesh head kit to get them all evenly. Never tried it on my acoustic kits. I definitely am now. Thanks for a great video. Love your snare sound at the end.

I’m tone deaf but I can tell when my drums don’t sound right but find it hard to tune the crap sound out of a particular drum. Since using this key my kit has never been better because it gives consistency and I’ve been able to remove all my tape dampings. I’ve noted the number settings so I can experiment and always get back to a base line. Overall my snare is tighter than the toms and all the reso heads are set tighter than the batters.

One more thing, I would think this would be great for guys that normally tune by ear if they were trying to tune with “set up noise” from the band, guitars and other instruments, also if they’re setting up in a bar full of people and can’t tap all the way around the lugs, they could just listen for the “click”

This thing is a piece of unusable junk! I had 3 of them all were machined terrible. Not one fit the lug on my Yamaha kit properly! Don't waste your money!
