I'm a new journeyman and this sounds SO much better than being on the tools. I think that would be a good career path.

Great video, excellently encapsulated the day in the life of a project manager. I’ve been a PM in Los Angeles for over 15 years currently doing a 50 story high-rise. Great channel, keep up the good work.

I'm fairly young in the industry <3 years of work but the last part of your video is so true, I love the team aspect of construction. The entire environment is great.

Got a bid due tomorrow, wish me luck!

I just started as a APM for a commercial mechanical/ plumbing company currently working on several government jobs mainly renovations and 1 IPD job for a new women’s and children’s hospital. I will definitely be following your channel to get a better understanding in the project management world. Keep up the content!

Looking into getting into construction management by the end of the year and hopefully that helps propel my aspirations to finish my architecture degree

Owners rep here, doing multiple projects at once, generally start on the design team during late fall into the winter. Then once finalized bid the project, personal record is a 8 minute bid opening (bus stop so...). Then submittal process. Followed by actual construction, provide daily inspections ( multiple projects, bridges, roads, waste water plants, etc.). Then project closeout and acceptance. A big project is a multi year monstrosity. At any given moment I am responsible for 10 to 30 million dollars in work.

Man you’re probably the most relatable to me. I’ve been a maintenance planner for about 10 years and the last few have been doing what seems to me is project management so decided to back to school and get my PM degree.

I (plan) outages at my jobs which is a 21 day shutdown. Creating RFQ’s sending them out and comparing..

Creating requisitions to get the hired contractors PO’s as well as 60k in rentals equipment 5k lifts, boom lifts, generators for sell the welders.. this year I have 7 cranes. Coming biggest bing a 550 ton, 2 120tons 2 90 tons, 2 60 tons and one deck crane…

I’ve wrote RFQ’s and scopes for all the contractors, reqs for alll the equipment and rentals.

I think I’m doing it already for the most part… just need to hone my skills in MSpriject.. which software do you use?

This content is amazing. Keep up the great work! I am currently a commercial electrician, and have secured myself in the niche of low voltage hvac controls/BMS. I’ve Been in the trades for just over 15 years and have moved up to head foreman at my branch of a large company. I’m feeling capped out financially and on a knowledge level. I have an opportunity to become a project manager that I am most likely going to pursue. I do have concerns about moving from the field into the office and wondering if you have any words of advice and/or resources that would help a tradesman move and adapt to the project management role? Thanks in advance
