I started doing tht when my cat Bug got sick and couldn't Groom himself. He seem so at peace. He passed from liver failure 8/8. This brought tears to my eyes

I lick my thumb and rub my cats faces. The saliva makes it grippy and I have my scent marking to show love. My cats have started to come up to me and lick my cheek now so I think we are sharing a bond of unspoken language

I like to pet them with damp hands sometimes:) They like it so much better than dry hands that cause static buildup. It really reminds them of being groomed because of the traction feeling.

Do this with my rescued cat and it helped us bond. Before that he was really feral and even bit as well as scratch me. It was a Category 3 bite. It was that bad I thought I'd have to re-home him. However after doing this and following Jackson's advice about slow blinking and giving him space, he slowly warmed up to me.

I lost my cat recently for over a month, and fortunately I got him back! Anyway, I was petting him, comforting him and I noticed what looked like a tear on my arm, and wondered if cats cry. Now I know. 😢

I tried it the other day… my cat looked at me with such love and just laid there and allowed me to brush her with the toothbrush. They really do like it.

My daughter is a foster coordinator at our local shelter as well as a vet tech. We foster A LOT of kittens especially the tiny ones that have to be bottle or tube fed. I use an old tooth brush to "groom" the babies. It is amazing how differently they respond to the brush then my fingers alone. Newborn kittens can purr like so loud...💕

Yeah that went weird. I've always saved old toothbrushes to clean nooks and crannies (like the hinges on the toilet seat), and I've started buying big packs of cheap toothbrushes to use to clean some of my kitchen equipment. Now I'll use one of the new ones to brush the community cat that's waiting in my spare room to get neutered tomorrow. He's not feral, but he's unhappy inside. I'm trying to console him as he's trapped here until he can be released back into his territory.

I use this technique on a kitten with wobbly cat syndrome. She was so nervous at first which would cause her to have anxiety and there for try to run causing her to fall more. Now when she sees me she meows for me to hold her and brush her. Super sweet girl!

Yes totally! We did that with our kitten that wasn‘t all to fond of human hands in the beginning. Now she‘s the cuddliest fluffball ❤
