That's the Cutest thing I've ever seen! I'm bad wth plants😭 But I'm saving this video on my playlist. Gosh, my Dad was the son of a very renound Agricultural engineer? He wrote "the books" people still go by today on how to grow, harvest, Sugarcane! So, that's one Legacy I have to honor in some way for my Dad & Great Grandfather...🌱🌿🍃

Have you tried Birdy Rouge and Pinocchio micro dwarf tomatoes? I`ve been starting plants in pots then transplanting them into the baskets and crimping foil around the top of the basket and stem to hold it in place and prevent light getting in. But I still use sponges for certain things but try to avoid using them if at all possible. I have a block of rock wool too but haven`t experimented with it yet. I also use expanded clay pebbles. I discovered the 3 inch net cups fit perfectly in Folgers Instant containers and use those for mint, watercress, and rooting cuttings to clone tomatoes, mint, basil, etc.

Hi!! I’m appreciating your aerogarden / idoo videos so much ! Why do you switch the paper cover to pool noodle DYI cover? To help strengthen the main tomato plant?

It looks like a determinate plant. Google says you don't need to prune determinate tomatoes. What do you recommend? Thank you!

very helpful! Question about pruning--I know you said some don't do it like you do, but what struck me is that you definitely seemed to take away more than a third of the plant, and Aerogarden says that 1/3 is the max you should ever cut away. Do you find that the serious pruning you did here is always good, or does it sometimes backfire in any way?

Were you putting vinegar inside the machine instead of water? I just got my first aerogarden and haven’t seen that yet! This is my first time growing anything so this video is super helpful!

What is the paper for? That you replaced with the pieces of pool noodle?
The original aerogarden pods have that paper on the top. Does it need to be there bc I pulled mine off 🤭
My little guys are just barely 2 weeks old- soooo, should I be fitting them with a pool noodle?? 😆
Help! Haha

Edit: It’s to prevent algae isn’t it!! I bet…I bet I’m growing algae 🤦🏻‍♀️
Ok- lesson of the day; don’t remove things when you don’t know why they are there to begin with

great job. love aerogarden but it seems kinda insane to pay $150 to grow 2 small tomato plants (why not fill all 6 holes?) that you only get like 5 tomatoes off each. I still use the machines but I'm just sayin.

I don’t use rockwool because of safety concerns. If you do, you are supposed to wear an N95 and gloves because if the dangers of inhaling the fibers.
