Why does Tom Tugendhat think he should lead Conservative Party?

Former security minister Tom Tugendhat has joined the race to replace Rishi Sunak as the next leader of the Conservative Party.

He is the second person to formally join the race, with shadow home secretary James Cleverly.

Mr Tugendhat told Kay Burley that his career has demonstrated "a track record of delivery".

Tugendhat had a chance to be the moderate, but he's gone down the Cruella/Jenprick route, which will lead to defeat.
Tories electing a bat shot crazy leader like Patel, Badenoch, or Bravermam will see them consigned to opposition for 10 years at least.
