The Train Journey Sounds series continues after a long gap. This is a full journey compilation from Shoranur to Nilambur, shot in August 2022 from right behind a beautiful Golden Rock WDG3A in Tondiarpet shed livery. This is one of the most beautiful railway sections in India, with the 66km branch line passing through lush teak forests and picturesque rivers before ending up at Nilambur, at the foot of the mighty Western Ghats.

This line doesn't look so beautiful anymore, and is in the process of losing thousands of teak and other trees to 'green' electrification. The ALCOs have given way to EMDs almost full-time now. The near future will see a much less beautiful line and the trains in all probability will be replaced by MEMUs. Glad I was able to make one final journey and record it to share here. Memories will always remain.

A rural beauty of "God's own country" and the melodious chugging sound added a real beauty into that. Is this an old journey compilation ?? Because I guess currently this train is running with an EMD.

Dheeraj I am a huge fan of you. I have been your subscriber through other accounts of mine since you posted your initial video's many years ago. I have all your collections bookmarked. I daily sleep with 2 or three videos' playing beside my bed every night. But this one I should say is not watchable due to the filth and dirt on the window which is yuck. Please remove this video or re-edit and post it removing that dirt on the window. I donno when are we really becoming swach Bharath given the fact the rail bogies were not washed before use, by the biggest organization of India(i.e. Indian railway). But its a process in the making I guess. One step at a time.
