Honda/Acura CKF bypass trick - In Depth

Here is a more in depth explanation of how to bypass your Crank position sensor if you're running an OBD2 ecu and harness while using an OBD1 or JDM block

When I say "knock sensor" in the video I actually mean the CFK or crank sensor. Just a mistake on my part while filming.

I have a 98 with the stock d16y7, I got the check engine light for the exact same thing . But the wire was torn since it was grinding against the alternator belt . Would this bypass still work for me ? I just don’t wanna go through the hassle of changing out the sensor . Lol

Just put a b20b in my 98 crv. Being that my crv is 98 it should be obd2a right? Well the blue C plug was wired exactly like it was obd2b, so I couldn’t do this the obd2a way. I had to do it like it was obd2b. I don’t think this worked because the check engine light came on

You sound like you know a lot about the compatibly of different honda parts, I recently bought a 2001 integra with a b18a1 in it and someone had already done this to my ecu 😆

Tried this and it got rid of the old code but is now throwing a new one. It’s now throwing a p1382 code “Cylinder position 1 sensor”.

So tried doing this and I’m still getting a check engine light with a p1382 am I doing something wrong or is that code not related to this ?

Just take a razor and strip all the way around the wires on the plug without cutting them.Peel off a small section of the insulation without cutting but make sure you remove it all the way around. Then use a small bridge wire stripped on both ends to bridge the wires together. So no clips or cutting in two that fails on some people.

i have a 2000 civic ex. my d16y8 block took a dump. so i bought a d16zc (z6) block. therefore, im keeping my y8 top.

this block does not have a knock sensor. i was told i have to bypass the crank sensor. i wanna keep my p2p ecu. i dont want to switch to a p28 ecu.

is this what you're doing? also, are there any drive-ability/performance issues by doing this?

Hey I’m swapping a OBD1 JDM B20B into my 2000 Integra and the wires on my car don’t color match the wires listed in this video Please help!!

So my 99 civic had this mod done to it because it's got the JDM B18C swap. My question is I'm installing a chipped p28 for some future dyno tuning. Should I leave the wires spliced? Or put them back to stock since I'm running an obd1 ecu in an obd2 car?
