•Η Αλεξανδρούπολη είναι η πρωτεύουσα του νομού Έβρου και η μεγαλύτερη πόλη που βρίσκεται στην Θράκη! Το 1874, αναπτύχθηκε με την κατασκευή σιδηροδρομικού δικτύου που την συνέδεε με το Πύθιο και την Κωνσταντινούπολη ως διακλάδωση της γραμμής Κωνσταντινούπολη-Σόφια όπου την εκμετάλλευση της γραμμής είχε η εταιρία των Ανατολικών Σιδηροδρόμων. Αργότερα το 1896 η εταιρία Jonction Salonique - Constantinople (JSC) εγκαινιάζει την γραμμή Θεσσαλονίκης - Αλεξανδρουπόλεως ως τμήμα της γραμμής μέχρι την Πόλη. Έτσι πλέον η Αλεξανδρούπολη διέθετε σιδηροδρομική σύνδεση με τις μεγάλες πόλεις όπου μπορούσε να διακινεί εμπορεύματα και επιβάτες.
Το 1923 που υπέστησαν ανάταξη τα ελληνοτουρκικά σύνορα λόγω την απελευθέρωσης της Θράκης από την Οθωμανική αυτοκρατορία, η γραμμή Αλεξανδρούπολη - Πύθιο - Σβίλενγκραντ, περνάει στα χέρια της Γαλλοελληνικής Εταιρίας Σιδηροδρόμων (ΓΕΣ).
Το 1954 η ΓΕΣ εντάσσεται στους Σιδηροδρόμους Ελληνικού Κράτους (ΣΕΚ) και εκείνη την περίοδο κατασκευάζεται ο επιβατικός σταθμός του λιμένα....
Το σήμερα δυστυχώς βρίσκει την γραμμή Θεσσαλονίκη - Αλεξανδρούπολη χωρίς τραίνα και την γραμμή Αλεξανδρούπολη - Ορμένιο με μόνο δύο ζεύγη δρομολογίων. Το δίκτυο σε όλο το μήκος του, βρίσκεται σε εγκατάλειψη και οι σταθμοί, έργα τέχνης, ρημάζουν προσπαθώντας να στείλουν ένα μήνυμα για βοήθεια...

•Alexandroupolis is the capital of the prefecture of Evros and the largest city located in Thrace! In 1874, it was developed with the construction of a railway network that connected it with Pythio and Istanbul as a branch of the Istanbul-Sofia line, which was operated by the Eastern Railways company. In 1954 the French-Greek Railway Company joined the Hellenic State Railways (SEK) and at that time the passenger station of the port was built..
Today, unfortunately, we find the line Thessaloniki - Alexandroupolis without trains and the line Alexandroupoli - Ormenio with only two trains on weekdays. The network along its entire length is abandoned and the stations, works of art, fall into disarray trying to send a message for help ...
