Hurricane Franklin Swell POV Surfing OBX Nags Head & North Pea Island 5’9” Dominator II 8/30/2023

Surfed for about an hour in nags head. . Chest to shoulder with sets head. No wind. Surfline forecast put it at 5-7ft and fair/good. Water was in the low 70’s. Air was low 80’s. Tide was mid high to mid. FireWire 5’9” Dominator II. About a 1mph drift from S to N at all spots required the catch a few then walk back approach.

Zero crowd for as far as the eye could see. Paddled out at Loggerhead St. just me and a friend for 1.5 hours. Got covered up a few times but never clean. My buddy made it clean several times!!! He’s way better than I though. By mid tide it was getting smaller and less make-able.

Pea Island about an hour later was just magic. About 2 miles south of Oregon inlet. Only 4-10 people out over about a half mile area. Never had to compete. This is when I had my blue rash on. Also the Battery in the go pro died. Unfortunately the second half of this session was the best for me. Long 4-5 turn waves. Too bad but it was a dreamy day. It was hard to stop.
