We normally use galvite primer on galvanized metal to bind paint to the galvanized surface to make the paint bond.

On the beach side of Oregon, the Hemlock and Fir trees you love grow there because of all the rain and constantly shed lots of small needles when the wind blows. Pine trees have long needles and don't do well with all that rain. They grow best in Eastern Oregon where it's dry, like Bend. Having tried to keep a pool in that climate, I agree with your discovery that owning one next to the South Coastal Hiway will be more work than pleasure. Consider a sauna and you can enjoy it more of the year.

Just a thought, or advice. In a lot of situations, you can push instead of pull with a wire feed, and it looks better. I am impressed with your work.

Cut the trees back a lil more so you can have your pool or get a slide out pool cover for when you’re not using it so you don’t have to constantly clean it. They make thermal ones that heat it while protecting it from the elements
