The Honda Prelude is Coming Back and Confuses Us All

The Honda Prelude is coming back...at least in concept. Fitting somewhere in between a Prius and a EV sports car, the new Honda Prelude Concept isn't a BAD looking car by any means, but might not be what the car enthusiast's community wants. If the Honda Prelude Concept turns into a production car, it is estimated for a 2026 arrival. So is it bad that the Honda Prelude is coming back possibly as an electric vehicle sports coupe? I think the Prelude concept looks great, and should be offered in both hybrid and non-hybrid flavors.

I think the Prelude and Celica get overlooked for being front wheel drive.

Like you say, there's no edge when the base hatch does everything the same but lighter.

I'm glad it's not a complete EV and is a hybrid instead. It's nice to actually have range and it's gonna be more accessible. While I wished they put the K20C1 or even the L15 Turbo instead, I guess I'll take what I can get (and I'll just be sad forever about the future of cars 😥).

And also it's good to hear that this will actually be a hybrid so fingers crossed it also gets a manual and potentially the 2.0T
I think if this is going to be priced affordably most likely between the Civic Si and Integra Type S then this will definitely be a smash hit

If Acura had released the new Integra as this the car community would have lost their damn minds. Instead, they went 4 door and everyone was left scratching their heads. Wonder if they'll eventually throw the new Type S engine in this thing, that would be a hit.

I've had my 5th gen for 8 years now, and no plans on letting her go. Prelude owners are definitely their own niche group who love their ludes❤
Cool to see the name coming back and pretty slick looking BUT being an EV definitely excludes the charm and quirks that make a car special.
Idk about yall, but I love hearing that H series valve tick that never goes away. 😂

Looks sweet to me! I hope they make a gasoline version with the Si 1.5T or the Accord 2.0T. A modern VTEC 2.4L or 2.5L would be amazing though. All with an 6-speed manual and helical lsd.

As someone who owned a 5th gen prelude they are super overlooked. Before I bought that car I honestly didn't care for them. But my wife actually picked the car out and she really liked the looks of it and we ended up driving 3 hours to Charlotte to pick it up and I fell in love driving it.

If the new prelude looks like that I’d like it especially if it had a awd option. I know it’s asking a lot, but there’s a lot of people including my self who live in states where they get lots of snow and would like more fuel efficient awd options. Plus let’s be honest awd is better than fwd.

I had a 2001 Silver Prelude with 3 inch drop, 19' inch HP rims, full HP header back straight pipe to HP catback, few motor mods, Carbon hood, trunk, custom headlights, carbon tails ! It was my favorite car build ive ever done until i wrapped it around a telephone pole falling asleep at the wheel one night !

i have a close friend that had always had integras from high school into college and one time eventually switching to a fifth gen prelude in college, he had it for YEARS after college, all of this being in the span of the past 11 years, most of that w the prelude, he only recently bought an 8th gen civic SI and regretted it ever since, he said there was something about the prelude that all his other hondas never captured.

It's actually a hybrid now :) Everyone assumed it was an EV off the initial reveal because it looked like it was lol. Honda came out soon after and said it is going to be a hybrid and I have seen a lot of talk about possible manual transmission
