Ice Yarns is the actual manufacturer for MANY yarn companies here in the states. Once they produce what the Brand Owner wants, in this case Lion Brand Mandala Cakes, they are free to use what is left over and sell it under their name at their price. This is not a duplicate but an exact product. Hobium and Hobbi do the same.

They're not dupes that's the Mummyfacturer, the original 🤣. Many companies use the same yarn, it's just label as their own brand.

And word of warning: shipping for ICE yarns is really expensive, so prepare for sticker shock. If you make a big order, it can work out to be quite reasonable, but don’t go there expecting a one-for-one swap. Or get together with crochet/knit friends and buy together.

With products, I’ve used the term “dupe” as something similar but not the same. This is how it’s been used in the beauty industry. This is a drop shipped item. But whatever we understand
