Mad respect. This guy had a major car crash in December that left him with a brain bleed and broken arm. He ran for 8h 10m 58s. I don’t care how slow he was, that’s perseverance.

'Finished last' will always be better than 'Did not finish' which always trumps 'Did not start'

Being last in a marathon is a pretty legendary achievement. For Elite and very good runners its a 2 or 3 hour run, for this guy it was dawn until dusk and he never quit. Big congrats to the guy for finishing

I finished last in a 100km ultramarathon by 45 minutes. Six hours behind the winner. Some of the other athletes kept-up to see me finish at night in the cold. I will never forget running down the final straight. Snow falling, lights and clapping. It was magic. Will take it to my grave. So will Tom. Respect my man.

Just stepping over the start line is more than most people.

Congratulations to him! Running a marathon is no easy feat. It takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get through 42.2km/26.2mi! What an accomplishment!

"The 35-year-old, from Banbury in Oxfordshire, suffered a bleed on the brain and a broken arm in the crash but still managed to finish the race and told BBC News he’s now hoping to do it all again next year!" - LadBible

I really love it that the organizers kept the race open for that long. Mad respect for them!

There used to be a TV commercial where the guy photoshopped his time because his friends were making fun of him for being the last finisher. Most people don't DRIVE 26 miles on a Sunday. Anyone who runs or walks it in one day deserves all the respect.

I love London the most on marathon day. Good vibes only! I don't think I could do it. The route passes the end of my street and the temptation to go home would be real!

Congrats big fella.
It takes a lot of guts to attempt let alone finish the distance.
Incredible effort.

Anyone who even signs up for a marathon deserves respect, even more respect to him considering his situation... brutal car crash only a few months ago which could've killed him.

Huge props to him. I don't think I could have finished walking if I had all day.

Fair play. I ran a half marathon during lockdown and felt like I'd been beaten up. Was sore for days. Respect and admiration for anybody competing that distance
