Remember that customer service can most definitely help get you a job! I have my A+, Net+ and sec+ and one of my co-workers used to be a bartender and works the same service desk role as me. His experience with customer service really shows when he takes his calls.

CompTIA is a very large respected industry. I currently have the "Trifecta" (A+, Net+, and Sec+) Also, CompTIA is vendor neutral, meaning they don't just focus on one device or brand. I'm currently studying for my Cloud+. Cloud+ is getting a lot of recognition lately. I'm interested in cloud computing.

I don't think we need to learn how to walk if you are already a runner, but if a company want you to prove that you know how to walk, then you'll need a way to prove that you know how to walk. The same goes for certification. Sometimes if you don't have a must have certification to check the box, you aren't getting hire, unfortunately.

The only issue I have with CompTIA certs is that they are over priced and are getting harder each year
It’s like compTIA doesn’t want you to pass any test.
Just a big time profit organization
