What I have learned is that the seeds are actually doing a process while sitting there, dry, and to be patient with my seeds. It’s crazy, because I grew several squash plants and I was super surprised that some came up so quickly, while others took their time, and I am always so surprised when a few weeks later I get a little plant, while the others are already quite large.

Once an original generation Italian woman gave me her tomato seed varieties glued by their gell on labeled paper bag rectangles. I have done the same for near 40 years.

I find silver maple keys germinate in my eaves trough quite readily. :-) Interesting about the trillium. The squirrels don't need to watch this video, they're already pros at planting walnuts and acorns. Anyone want a tree, just drop by.

Far by the best detailed summary of the subject. We say experience is the key, but this detailed scientific approach is also necessary. Thank you!

Have you ever worked hard to germinate something with no success and then find one growing in the compost pile?

I sometimes spray with peroxide if i am germinating in paper towels and it looks like mould might be a problem or they are germinating too sliw and may get mouldy.

Wow, I pull up so many sugar maple seedling every year cause they germinate easily in our yard. We have soooo many maple trees cause of this, part of our yard looks like a forest now, it even killed off a patch of grass cause it's all shade now haha. The red maple doesn't give us as many seedlings. I always feel bad pulling them up and now I'll feel even worse knowing how hard it is to get them to germinate. Our honey locust also gives many seedlings every year. I must pull uo over 100 seedlings. We let too many of those grow too
