Does the KitchenAid Food Grinder actually work? Does it do as good of a job as the more expensive meat grinders? Watch to find out!

Kevin has been out in the woods hunting for deer and got a nice doe! His stand alone meat grinder broke, but he had this back up grinder in storage. Kevin shows whether the grinder works well enough to grind the venison, and gives an overall demonstration and review.

****** About Living Traditions Homestead ******

Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.

We put out 5 new videos every week! Tuesday through Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!

Thanks for the video. I watched another video about grinding and then making sausage and there was one thing that I had never even thought of. Once you are at the end of you grinding, take a whole or part of a slice of bread and feed it into the hopper, tamping it down. Run the grinder and once the bread is finished coming out, your shaft is clear of meat. It just helps to empty that shaft, so that you don't have to do it with your hand. I hope that this is a piece of information that some might find useful. Thanks again for all of the videos that you share.

When my Mom was doing this, she would finish the grinding with a piece or two of bread to get all the meat out.

Thank YOU! We have had the meat grinder attachment for a couple of years and I caught my husband watching this video and he went straight into the kitchen to grind something. It was boneless thighs which we turned into chicken patty parmesan! Thank you, Kevin and Sarah. Love your channel!

I use my attachment for processing tomatoes. Does a fantastic job, but was nervous to use the plastic attachment for grinding meat. THANK YOU so much for the very informative video!!! I'm ready😂❤❤❤

Always slightly freeze your meat because grinder gets hot- just an FYI. Great Video none the less!

I could not get the pin out. I had a punch that was the right size and that thing would not even budge. Yours came out so easy.

Thank you for this... really informative, not a review from a professional butcher who's gonna be a snob about their pro tools.. just a review for a normal person doing smaller amounts, you sold me, thanks much!

The D-N-L's kitchen aide grinder attachment works tougher & faster than my stand alone!
My stand alone gets hot, has to take breaks, while the kitchen aide kept on trucking! :)

Glad to find this older video of yours. I inherited my mom's grinder attachment but there were no instructions inside and I didn't know if it needed to assemble any differently than my electric grinder. Am making relish and the electric grinder only has the fine plate so I'm going to try the Kitchenaid. I didn't realize you could get the manual online for free. In past when I've looked up missing manuals they were always found at a per-pay site. Thanks, Kevin.

I love my kitchenAid grinder! I used it to grind my own ground meat. I could get roasts cheaper than ground meat .

I love a kitchen aide mixer! There are attachments for all kinds of stuff including milling grain. My mom has had hers since i was in elementary school and im 48 now. It still works like a champ. Well worth the investment! And the mixer with attachments take up far less space than the equivalent equipment.

Than you!!!! I’ve watched so many videos wondering which size holes to use. This makes sense. 👍🏻

8:40 People at home, do NOT do this. Always unplug your machine before switching the dies or removing the blade. This machine chops meat; it doesn’t care what kind you put in or if it’s attached to you.

It would have been nice to see a close shot of the coarse ground meat along side the fine ground meat. Thanks for the informative video.

This is a question I had! WOW KitchenAid Grinder for $7 at thrift store? SCORE! I might have to put this on my Amazon wish list -- having 7 grown kids is finally starting tp pay off! Very good video, nice presentation of some good information! 😄

I've got the kitchen aid metal version and it's the best grinder I've ever used. I had the plastic one and the issue with it is during a long grind session it gets real greasy from heat. the metal version you refrigerate it and can grind for a very very long time before it gets hot enough to melt fat

Nice video we have had our grinder attachment for about 6 or 7 years and have used it heavily. Two to three pigs and several deer a year. Plus when we run out of burger we will grind up extra steaks or roasts, yeah we are crazy and like burger better than steak or roasts.
