Adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with cancer face unique challenges and have specific needs. Historically, cancer care has been divided between pediatric and older adult patients. This creates additional challenges for AYAs as they navigate their cancer care while also balancing their mental health, financial wellbeing, educational and career development goals, fertility, and social connection. In this presentation from September 13, 2023, Annah Abrams, MD, addresses the unique needs of our AYA population as well as discusses the clinical and psychosocial frameworks and social opportunities being developed for our AYA patients.

This program is a collaboration between the Maxwell & Eleanor Blum Patient and Family Learning Center, Mass General for Children, and Mass General Cancer Center.
