Today I want to answer what we do when we have a child who has a bad attitude about their homeschool, when they don't want to do what is assigned or when those homeschool days start to become a battle. Time to get to the heart of the issue.

This is such a blessing and I will humbly say that I'm a Homeschool Educational Specialist who has had years of servicing homeschool families successfully and prior to that had nine years of classroom experience from grades TK-8 in the traditional public sector. I was constantly praised by my administration for my effective classroom management and amazing rapport I had with students and parents. I resign to fulfill my calling of homeschooling my own four as what I felt God told me to do and my four year old give SERIOUS push back. I mean full blown melt down all over the floor with tears, kicking and screaming about simply tracing his name. Oh just wait for it... Other times, he will walk up and tell me, "Mom I want to do some work." My goodness if you could only see me shaking me head, laughing and teary eyed as I type this. I work full time from home as a Homeschool ES with a local charter so my littles are in a routine that I need to keep for work purposes (ages 2, 4, 5 & 9). EVERYONE works well with it except my four year old. I'm sure you can imagine as an educator how frustrated I was at first but it's actually turning out to be a testimony as I research determined to find what works for my little guy. Sorry for my ramble BUT my bottom line was that I came across this video and above all else I loved hearing the words "YOU'RE NOT ALONE!" Even though we all know we're not it's so nice to hear it. My husband is convinced he needs to go to private school for kindergarten next year but I don't feel like I'm done trying everything! From a nearly ten year classroom teacher with a Masters Degree in Education and fourth year servicing homeschool families YOU'RE NOT ALONE. I can manage a classroom full of 36 eighth graders and yet my four year old mind boggles me DAILY! Sorry Life in the Mundane for rambling but you truly are a blessing to me. THANK YOU!

I homeschool my youngest son, all my other kids are out of school. He is 12 and hitting puberty has him with a bit of an attitude, emotional and losing focus very quickly. I am fighting his biology with each lesson. Thank you for making this video.

I needed this video so much today!! Thank you!! My kids are currently having quiet time in their bedrooms because I was so very tired of the push and pull this morning. And during such time, I'm here looking at videos/encouragement on how I can do better, what I can adjust and how I can, hopefully, add a little more peace into our homeschooling

Yes we have attitudes esp having five sons. However I have assigned seating and that helps a lot as well as starting and hopefully ending in prayer daily and keeping things as short as possible . We do activities as well during times a year that are warmer to keep from getting stir crazy

Totally off the subject but I have to tell you my funny... I've been watching you for months and I love your video intro and every time I think its so cool that you are a second generation homeschooler and how awesome that would be and while watching this video it dawned on me... Thanks for sharing these strategies! I absolutely love have you your kids back to God’s word 🤗 such a helpful video! This was our first year homeschooling and one of the things that we have definitely worked on is getting our children to express their emotions and how it’s natural to feel certain emotions, but how mindful we have to be about how we act upon it!
