How to Finish a Cornhole Board

How to finish a cornhole board with a polyurethane coat. Polyurethane is often used as a coating for boards due to it's protective nature and extra slickness it provides. We made this video to provide some value to the people looking to understand the process of coating their boards.

Here at Slick Woody's we do not recommend putting polyurethane on our already printed boards, as the laminate we print on provides a consistent slide and playing surface. We do however encourage that our customers finish their DIY boards or printed cornhole boards however they prefer to.

So I am putting a design on my board. I have glued the design down and then put a layer of poly over it. If I sand the poly when it dries will it start scuffing the design? Should I add multiple layers of poly before I start to sand it? Please advise. Thank you.

DO NOT DO THIS ON GRASS! you will have bugs and debris stuck in if the wind blows. Do it inside a well ventilated area like a garage up on stands

Is oil base better than water base ? Also with the amber from oil base is it better to use WB on white colors to avoid yellowing to the white

I'm curious if anyone can comment on whether the final coat should be slightly scuffed or not? Is there a way to control the slip of the bags on the surface? Say, you want the bags to slide more or less, can you do something to control that?

Is the minwax fast drying polyurethane safe for outdoor use their website says for indoor use? I have always used the spar polyurethane for outdoor items but it takes a long time to dry.
